Meet Shan Morrison
- Specialist Women's, Men's & Pelvic Health Physiotherapist, FACP
- Post Graduate Certificate (Pelvic Floor Function & Dysfunction, Advanced Practice Pelvic Floor Physiotherapy), University of Melbourne
- Bachelor of Applied Science (Physiotherapy), La Trobe University
Shan began her physiotherapy career at Monash Health, where she quickly discovered her passion for supporting people through the childbearing years and helping those with pelvic floor concerns. She joined Pelvic Health Matters in 1995 as the practice’s first employee under founder Helena Frawley, later becoming a partner in 1998 and sole director in 2004.
Driven by her vision to create a centre of excellence in pelvic health, Shan has spent three decades learning, mentoring, innovating, teaching and building a team that shares this vision. Along the way, she completed postgraduate training in pelvic health and achieved the Australian College of Physiotherapists’ highest recognition as a Specialist Women’s, Men’s & Pelvic Health Physiotherapist (2011).
Shan is regularly invited to speak at national and international conferences, contribute to media discussions and lecture at the University of Melbourne’s Pelvic Health Masters program. She also serves on the board of Pelvic Pain Victoria and the organising committee for the Asia-Pacific Prostate Cancer Conference.
Deeply appreciating the role of multidisciplinary care, Shan has ensured the Pelvic Health Matters team work closely with hundreds of GPs and Medical Specialists to improve patient outcomes. And while she loves contributing to the broader field, the consulting room is still her favourite place - where her caring, curious and inclusive approach helps each person feel understood and supported. Nothing brings Shan more joy than empowering patients to reach their goals and return to what matters most.
